Factories, warehouses, and refineries with an
impressive array of pipe racks. Everything in Prefab
concrete. Industrial construction is the type of
construction that seems to fit our speciality.
Our company takes care of the entire process;
from design, engineering, and assembly, to delivery. The three-dimensional software lets us make adjustments late into the process. This keeps failure costs to a minimum.
Process safety
Safety onsite is significantly increased through the use of prefabrication. This is due to the reduced use of personnel and equipment (cranes and scaffolding), and results in more than 50% shorter construction times in comparison to onsite work. In doing so, safety risks can be better estimated and quantified. Pre-planned procedures and work methods–documented in safety and operating plans–make execution more controllable and manageable.
The use of prefabricated elements means that the elements being supplied are self-supporting and load-bearing. Temporary supports are integrated into the construction parts when making wet joints, and this limits the use scaffolding and aerial work platforms.
Just in time logistics
The amount of transport movement onsite is limited by supplying complete prefabricated segments. This applies to other resources as well (e.g. cranes). The result is a simpler organisation and a reliable timetable. Just in time prefab deliveries also means a reduction of material storage onsite, limiting the space required for the construction site itself.
High quality awareness
The quality of the prefabricated products is guaranteed by:
- fabrication in a controlled environment
- the use of high-strength concrete
- no separation of used concrete mixtures during transport
- intensive inspection of mixtures and end-products
by our organisation and KIWA, the external testing authority
- skilled personnel
High manageability
Working in the industry means planning, procedures, and timetables. Since the prefabrication of concrete elements involves an industrial manufacturing process, the need for the abovementioned management resources is self evident. This also contributes to making the engineering and manufacturing processes more verifiable and traceable by the contractor. Adjustments in prefabrication can be made if necessary without influencing the critical path in the overall planning. What plays a significant role here is that the manufacturing takes place in a controlled environment that is not subject to weather conditions.
Technologically strong
The Betonson technical laboratory makes it possible to use Self Compacting Concrete from which not only structurally sound but also visually attractive high-quality products can be fabricated. This department is also responsible for developments in the field of high strength concrete, concrete granulate reuse, and concrete replacing binding agents.
The advanced mould techniques we employ in our fabrication plants enable us to produce complex end-products with precision tolerances.
Eye on sustainability
Contrary to popular opinion, the use of concrete–prefab concrete in particular–means a significant reduction of energy and CO2 emissions. Reductions greater than 50% are attainable in comparison to steel constructions. Further reductions are possible when using concrete granulate, fly ash, and blast furnace cement. The more efficient use of transport means is also a 'green' factor where prefabrication is concerned.
